US, Canada, & Europe Vehicle Recalls

Sept. Oct. and Nov. 2002

September 2002: General Motors recalled about 597,000 model year 2000-2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac, Escalade, and GMC Yukon and Denali Sport Utility vehicles to help customer from pinching their fingers in a seat. Check with your GM Dealer on this recall.

October 2002: Ford recalled about 424,164 midsize cars due to break and accelerator pedal problems. Ten per cent of the pedals are too close to each other, possibly causing a driver to hit the accelerator when he or she was trying to hit the break. The models involved are the Ford Taurus, and the Sable. Check your Ford Dealer for more information on this important recall.

October 2002: Toyota recalled about 397,263 subcompacts and mini car vehicles exported to the US, Europe and Canada. Rear break pipe may cause break fluid to leak when scratched by Ice stuck inside rear wheel while driving on snowy roads. The Toyota Spokesperson said there were no reports of accidents.

November 2002: Chrysler recalled about 500,000 minivans for 1996 to 1998 models of Dodge Caravan, Grand Voyager, Chrysler Town & Country. Please Check with your Chrysler dealer for the information about the reason for the recall of these vehicles. Chrysler is also extending warranties on 1.3 million more vehicles. Again contact your dealer for exact information on the recalls.
